The Thunder Rolls

This was an actual storm that I came upon traveling home from Albuquerque, heading east with the setting sun behind me, illuminating this huge, colorful thundercloud. I came to a dead stop in the middle of the deserted highway to take this amazing picture so I could paint it in pastel. I believe I captured the essence of the dark, brooding clouds under the fantastic light filled clouds above!
