Autumn Splendor

This was a smaller study I did using strictly hard pastels. My preference is Nupastel. This scene I scoped out the day before, knowing the fog would be on the pond the morning after. Since I live close to the lake country in Western Minnesota, it made for easy access. Scenes like this are common place with plenty of lakes and ponds. There is no lack of inspiration here particularly in the fall with plenty of sugar maple and read oaks. I will occasionally produce a piece of artwork only using hard pastels, because it sharpens my drawing skills.
