The Sentinel

This scene of Monhegan Island, Maine, encompasses so many of the elements I love to paint in pastels: fog, water, rocks, crashing waves, goldenrod, and a bird, the lone cormorant. It is easy to understand how Monhegan Island inspired so many artists over the years.
