Ocean Wanderers

Every year our family takes a walk on the beach in Rhode Island on Christmas Day. The waves and light were perfect this particular day and, since I am always looking for birds to include in my land/seascapes, I was thrilled to see these gannets fishing not far offshore. I had been intimidated by idea of taking on waves with pastels in the past, but in the last couple of years, I've found myself enjoying the challenge.
