I chose this portrait to enter because I felt it apropos with the racial unrest of 2020. This young lady is a teenager who was living with a foster family and looking to be adopted. She was filled with hope, despite a difficult life. The Black Lives Matter Movement made me think of her, with the hope that in 2020, she had the good fortune to find a permanent family.
