Downstream

Downstream is a painting created to capture the motion, energy and beauty of fish swimming alongside one another. Starting with a brayer "drawing" to lay down the initial shapes and composition of the fish, then applying pastel ontop with various markmaking gives takes the viewers eye on the journey that the fish are experiencing swimming downstream.
