Waiting

A shimmering wave crashing along the Monterey Bay (central California coast) with a great blue heron watching and taking his time deciding when to take off to get his lunch. It was a spectacular sunny day in early fall with just enough wind and current to create good-sized waves that showed off the water's luscious colors and a burnishing halo that surrounded the heron.
