I work in soft pastels on UART. I begin with a sketch followed by a watercolor underpainting and then many layers of pastel on top. I am influenced by the floral and fauna around me and how light and shadows give form and character to the subject. When I'm not painting floral and fauna, I'm attempting to capture the spirit of the person in my portrait paintings.
