On the River

This is a Plein Air piece done on the banks of the Rio Grande in El Paso, TX. It was toward the end of summer when the trees and grasses start to turn. I worked quickly, keeping the pastel strokes loose for a sketchy feel. I used the Uart paper's cream color and did a simple under painting of local color, except for the sky, where I used pink.
