Pastel with alcohol underpainting with soft pastels.This is a familiar spot on the river for me and yet this tree, reaching for the light in the early morning fog, is losing its life. What is left of the tree is falling into the river - slowly. It's like losing a friend to long term illness over time. And yet, life reaches out. I am filled with awe.
