Salkantay

I created this piece in celebration of my grandmother and in memory of an inspiring landscape in Peru. My grandmother had been an incredible artist. I was gifted her pastel set when she passed and immediately fell in love with the medium. I used these pastels to relive and recreate the moment I stood below Salkantay, the highest peak in the Vilcabamba mountain range in Peru. The still beauty of that immense mountain is an image I will never forget.
